MAINE Fur Bomber Hat Sewing Class - In Person 2 Days Long

Dates: August 1-2, 2026 (2 day long class)
Saturday: 9am-7pm Sunday: 9am-6pm
We'll need all the time we can get to finish the project! If you need to leave early, be prepared to finish your project at home.
Level: This is an intermediate level class, best suited for confident beginners or those with previous fabric sewing experience.
Course Fee: $475 USD (cancellations or no-shows are non-refundable unless we are able to backfill your spot)
Supplies: Supplies, pelts (choice of beaver or raccoon) and sewing machines will be provided to use during the class. Once complete, your hat is yours to keep!
***Small class size 8 participants max***
I'll walk you through each step of prepping and sewing a full fur bomber hat, from start to finish, starting with professionally tanned pelts.
Day 1
- Proper use of the furrier knife
- Repair holes in pelts via ellipse and drop methods
- Stretch and block pelts
- Cut and sew lining

Introduction to the fur sewing machine
Day 2
- Cut and sew fur hat using fur sewing machine
- Install snaps on forehead flap
- Attach lining to hat
- Attach straps to hat
Once you've finished the class you'll have the skills and confidence to take what you've learned and tackle your own fur sewing projects at home!
You will receive a printed Darling Leather And Fur Full Fur Bomber Hat Pattern to keep & Video Tutorial link (to reference after the course.) $65 value!
Pack a lunch or visit the dining hall across the street for $5 meals.
